Rob Fuggetta on “Brand Advocates”

1:30 — Kristen Platt introduces Rob Fuggetta, author of Brand Advocates: Turning Enthusiastic Customers into a Powerful Marketing Force.

1. Do you know who your brand advocates are?

-You can find who your advocates are by paying attention to who are constantly posting in your social channels and talking about you.

2. Are you giving your advocates an opportunity to advocate your brand?

-By utilizing social media tools you give your advocates the chance to magnify their love for your brand.

3. Do incentives help to encourage brand advocates?

NO. People do not trust paid advocates. People trust a purely authentic recommendation more.

4. How are you tracking the business transactions from advocacy?

There are different types of 3rd party platforms that track social data. But you have to test and track different advocacy programs to see what works the best.

1:53– Advocate Stats

-On a scale from 0-10, 50% of people will instantly recommend a business or service. Of those 50%, on average 30% will recommend that business using social media tools. Out of every 100 outbound shares, 70 people will visit the recommendation.
