Issue #114: BtoB Word of Mouth Techniques

Try these BtoB word of mouth techniques to get companies talking about you:

1> Share research
2> Host events
3> Group interactions

1> Share research

Publish research that people will pass around the office. Help spread your work by putting it in a simple PDF, posting it to SlideShare, and prominently encouraging people to pass the content on. Requiring logins or asking for contact information will only slow down the word of mouth.

2> Host events

The more people interact with you face-to-face, the more they talk about you. Host social events to get prospects and existing customers together to network and to generate word of mouth. Nobody talks about your booth at the trade show, but they will talk about the party you threw afterward.

3> Group interactions

Focus on getting groups involved and talking to one another. Instead of a single thank you note, send food for the whole office; rather than sending a single dial-in for your webinar, make it easy for the entire team to jump on the call. Think about what you can send to a prospect that they will share with their co-workers.
