Bark & Co., the company behind BarkBox, is pretty good at creating sharable content on their blog The BarkPost. While most of their blog posts are fun, lighthearted stories about dogs, sometimes they show off their products — but only when it makes sense.

For example, this 31 Dogs in Mustaches post was inspired by Movember and Bark & Co.’s chew toy that makes dogs look like they have mustaches.

Sharing this product on their blog worked for word of mouth for a couple reasons:

  • People like sharing funny content.
  • Showing off fan-submitted photos encourages customers to post their own too.
  • Remarkability was built into the product.

If you have a company blog, don’t be afraid to feature your stuff every once in a while. The best products to share might be the ones that inspire your customers to share their own stuff too.
