How to create word of mouth from a party invite

When Saul Colt of FreshBooks throws a party, he knows how to get people talking. Here’s an excerpt of the e-mail invite he sent us lucky folks at GasPedal (along with a few extra invites we’ll be giving out at our December 10 Word of Mouth Marketing Crash Course):

If you were to ask FreshBooks Employee of the Month Saul Colt what he loves most he would tell you:

1: FreshBooks

2: Shoes

3: a girl he just met (may not be love but he likes her)

4: Shoes

So when he decided to throw a little party for FreshBooks Customers and Friends in Chicago he decided to include all his "loves" and came up with the "Let’s wear other people’s shoes while we eat party!"

Yep…you are being invited to a bowling party!

This (hopefully) fun and very casual get together will be at 10pin Bowling
Lounge and is also a shameless attempt for Saul to impress an amazing girl so please help make him look good if you can! (and Saul realizes that part may sound creepy and scare her away but it is not really any creepier than the fact that Saul wrote this invite in the third person).

Saul gives us several reasons to talk:

1> Who wouldn’t want to invite a friend to the feel-good social bowling gathering of the year?

2> Even if you can’t make it, you’ll tell friends and will want to know how it turned out

3> He gave us extra invites to hand out at our December 10 Crash Course
(now we look cool, too!)
