If you’re paying the big bucks for a storefront, give passers-by a reason to tell friends to be sure to walk past your store on their way home.

Offer a great free sample, something educational, live demos, something weird, or something fun to watch.

In preparation for the New York City Marathon, outdoor clothing retailer Icebreaker teamed up with Paragon Sports in New York to set up a live seamstress in the store window.

In front a live audience, a seamstress converted old synthetic running T-shirts into shoe bags for free in an effort to get runners to part with their petroleum-based shirts and consider switching to wool-based apparel.
