Big fans deserve big acknowledgment. Your recognition not only shows them some well-earned appreciation, but it also gives all your other fans something to strive for.
How a word of mouth supergenius does it:
Steven Luch really, really loves White Castle. He has a White Castle tattoo on his arm, which he sometimes uses to earn an extra free burger when he’s in the restaurant — which in some weeks, is every day.
Luch also regularly hosts parties in which he orders 500 burgers to feed his guests. Sometimes he prints T-shirts emblazoned with the White Castle logo and hands them out to attendees.
Luch’s story is one of 67 that have earned induction into White Castle’s Hall of Fame. Since 2001, nearly 7,000 White Castle fans have submitted stories for consideration for the Hall, but only the very best have made it in.
The Hall includes such White Castle legends as the news reporter who ordered her chopper to land near one of their locations so she could feed her crew while en route to cover a prison riot, the pastor who would celebrate the end of a 40-day fast from meat with his parishioners at a nearby White Castle, and the musicians who wrote “White Castle Blues.”
