The scholarships are being awarded as part of our commitment to help hard-working organizations and individuals learn to execute effective word of mouth strategies, even without expensive marketing budgets. Application information is available at http://events.gaspedal.com.
“Word of mouth is the kind of marketing you can do well yourself even in a tough economy,” says GasPedal CEO Andy Sernovitz. “We’re delighted to give away 15% of our seats to non-profits and small businesses because we admire their entrepreneurial spirit and believe they are hard-working organizations that thrive on word of mouth the most.”
The Word of Mouth Crash Course is an intense, one-day workshop designed to teach businesses advanced ethics-based word of mouth marketing techniques, including blogs, buzz, viral marketing, and social media. Participants come away with a customized action plan they can use to engage in word of mouth marketing immediately and without the resources to hire an agency.
In addition to the inaugural session on July 30, the Word of Mouth Crash Course is being taught on September 4 and October 9. The workshops are led by Sernovitz, who is also the author of “Word of Mouth Marketing: How Smart Companies Get People Talking.”All events are held at the Catalyst Ranch in Chicago.
