How Ian’s Pizza recognizes their biggest fans

ianspizzafanIan’s Pizza, which started in Madison, Wisconsin before opening a location in Chicago, celebrates their biggest fans by awarding them the title of “Fanatic of the Month.”

The Fanatic of the Month is highlighted on their website with a picture and a little background on them and what they love about Ian’s. Different locations award different fans, and this month’s award for the company’s Chicago location happens to go to pro football tight end Owen Daniels.

Fans of Ian’s are called “Ian’s Fanatics,” and anyone can sign up to be one. Here’s how they describe it:

“Do you love Ian’s? I mean, really, really love Ian’s? Do you have a recurring dream of drowning in Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce while surrounded by steak and fries—but you don’t consider it a nightmare? Are your friends about one slice away from holding an intervention? (Or, even better, they would but they’re too busy eating here with you to organize that meeting?)

Congratulations — you’re officially an Ian’s Fanatic and you’re our kind of person.

Sign up here and make your obsession official. Ian’s Fanatics get first notice of specials, events, and the occasional random email that just keeps you informed about what’s going on with us. Don’t worry, though, we won’t get too spammy and we won’t ever, ever give your name or email to anyone else. We know we’ve got a special bond, you and us, and we won’t do anything to screw it up.”

The Lesson: Giving your biggest talkers an award is an excellent thank you as well as a motivator for other fans to speak up.
