When someone is about to write an article about you, blog about you, or mention you in a newsletter, there’s a good chance they’ll look to your website to use your logo. This is great, as long as the image looks like it’s supposed to.
But too often, companies make it difficult by burying the logo in a flash-based animation or by having the logo be part of a bigger, unrelated background image. You can make it easy on your talkers by making it simple to grab your logo off your homepage or by dedicating a special page to various downloadable versions of your corporate logo.
How a word of mouth marketing supergenius does it:
Canadian-based Suncor Energy has one of the best logo pages we’ve seen, with not just one logo for grabs, but more than a dozen versions with various color combinations and backgrounds, available in three different downloadable formats (JPEG, TIFF, and EPS).
Disclosure: Suncor Energy is a Social Media Business Council member (and an awesome one at that!), but even if they weren’t, we’d write about them anyway.
