Word of Mouth Tip #60: Put your fans’ loyalty on the wall

One of the challenges about the love your fans have for you is that it’s often quiet. It’s pillow talk. It’s passive. It’s hushed.

That’s why we’re here — to help this love get out in the open. To make it louder. To show it off.

How a word of mouth supergenius does it:

2010-06-19 18.33.14 This funky restaurant here in Chicago, The Meatloaf Bakery, makes meatloaf cupcakes, pies, and cakes out of turkey, sausage, chicken, salmon, and lentils. They’re remarkable, and though fairly new, they’ve already earned a bunch of loyal fans.

They offer regular customers rewards through their "Frequent Loafer" program. But instead of having people keep their loyalty cards with them, The Meatloaf Bakery keeps them on the wall — where everyone can see them.

It’s like a wall of fame for their biggest talkers and best customers. It’s a little thing, but everyone that comes in gets introduced to their growing list of loyal, loving fans.
