Will It Blend Week, part 3: The numbers behind the amazing viral video series

As a preview for Word of Mouth Supergenius: The “How to be Great at Word of Mouth Marketing” Conference here in Chicago on December 16, we’re dedicating a full week to our halftime celebrities from Will It Blend — one of the most successful viral video series of all time.

Here we’re looking at some of the raw numbers behind the success of Blendtec’s Will It Blend series. Since launching the series in the fall of 2006, their videos have produced:

  • 85 million views on YouTube
  • More than 100 million views on WillItBlend.com
  • Over 200,000 YouTube subscribers
  • 700% increase in sales

And that’s just the raw numbers. Other results from the series include leads: DVDs of Will It Blend videos are now the #1 door opener for corporate accounts. And that’s not even mentioning all the brand awareness they’ve received. This BtoB blender company has been featured on the Tonight Show, Today Show, History Channel, Food Network, and CNBC.

If you were looking for some final encouragement to launch your series or for some real numbers to sell your boss on creating sharable content, look no further than Blendtec.
