How to be awesome on Twitter and Facebook — live with CME Group’s Allan Schoenberg

Continuing our previews for Word of Mouth Supergenius: The “How to be Great at Word of Mouth Marketing” Conference on December 16 here in Chicago, we bring you word of mouth supergenius and CME Group’s Director of Corporate Communications, Allan Schoenberg.

Here Allan shares a few tips on how to effectively use tools like Twitter and Facebook based on the class he’ll be hosting:

  • It’s not about you. Being out on these platforms is about interacting with your audience and talking about things that are relevant to them (which doesn’t mean it’s always news or info about you).
  • You have to be interactive. You have to ask questions, answer questions, and be willing to offer valuable information.
  • Take risks. All of these social media applications and tools are so new that taking risks allows you to discover things that work, as well as a few that don’t.
