The problem with viral videos is while everyone wants one, no one can tell you how to make one. As NVIDIA’s former Social Media Manager, Shanee Ben-Zur admits, her team couldn’t have predicted the success of their product demo video on YouTube. But that didn’t stop them from learning (and sharing) what methods helped the video along its path to success.

In her presentation at SocialMedia.org‘s BlogWell conference in San Francisco, Shanee describes the steps they took to promote their demo video that earned over 600,000 views and 800 comments in the first week. Equally as important, she shares how another video launch flopped in comparison and the lessons learned from that campaign.

Shanee also explains:

  • Why it pays to make an editor’s job easier for them
  • How to create a great experience for the viewer
  • Why even scrappy, agile companies like NVIDIA have to plan further ahead
